Financial Freedom!

Imagine waking up without an alarm clock. You lay there in bed, so comfortable, smiling from the amazing dream you just had. You can feel the warmth of the sun shining in through your open windows and hear the soft crashes of the waves hitting the shore. A slight breeze comes through bringing in the smell of the sea. You know it’s going to be a good day.

You take a big stretch, turn and put your feet on the ground. You look out your window and there it is. The bright and shimmering ocean. The golden sandy beaches and the day that is all yours to do as you please.

Is this how you’d like to wake up in the morning? Yes? No? Maybe so?

Maybe you’re more into being in the mountains, or perhaps you like a more regimented life where your alarm clock rings at the same time every morning and you start your day by looking at your calendar. Maybe you don’t like the fact that you have the whole day to yourself and would rather go into the office and get some work done.

Whatever you prefer, I think that we all have a deep desire and wish that we could spend our days and lives doing whatever we pleased, how we pleased.

When you achieve financial freedom, it’s my belief that you’ve won the lottery.

To me financial freedom means I have the choice. The choice to live my life however I like. The choice to sleep all day. The choice to go for a walk when I want. The choice to spend my time with family and friends. The choice to spend a year traveling the world and the choice to not have to work.

We have to work though, don’t we?

No, my friends we don’t.

Now just to be clear, I haven’t achieved financial freedom and I’m still working. Right now I can’t really just quit my job either because I’m in the military. (I mean I could quit, but I’m not really up for dealing with those consequences) I also can’t quit my job because I need the paycheck coming in. But that’s not always going to be the case.

Financial Freedom is what I want and the power of choice is what I crave. That’s I decided to get into real estate investing. By buying and holding homes to rent over the long term I can eventually generate enough money to live off without putting in nearly the amount of time I need to work at them moment. I can also be traveling around the world and still be generating income.

Now, real estate is just the route that I’ve decided to take. There are hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands of routes that you can take to achieve financial freedom.

Even when you do reach financial freedom it doesn’t mean that you have to stop working. It could mean that you can finally leave your cubicle job and now you can take a job that you think is for or do something that you truly have passion about.

The choices are limitless when you get to that point and it’s available for everybody.

Whether or not you’d like to achieve financial freedom, we all have something we’d like to reach for. Some goal, some dream, some ambition that we all want to achieve, but for some reason we keep holding back.

Sit down, reflect, and ask yourself what you’re truly passionate about. If you need ideas you have the whole world at your fingertips and an endless source of people to ask.

Once you figure something out give it a whirl and see how things go, but don’t half-ass it. Really give it a try. Don’t worry about failing and don’t worry that whatever you chose to accomplish might not be the right thing. You’ll come to find out that one thing leads to the next and to the next and eventually you’ll find what you’re looking.

If you have a question or need help with your own goals, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’d be more than delighted to help out as best as I can!
