Looking Towards 2018

Two days in and I have to say it’s been a pretty good year so far! Haha

2017 was an unbelievably great year for me! I believe it was so great because I made it that way. Of course there were times that weren’t great but that was usually because of something I did or didn’t do. Either way, I was pretty much in control of how I wanted my life to go and what I wanted to do. I’d like to work on that even more in 2018.

So what’s in store for me in 2018? Really, I have no idea. I just know that I’m really excited about it! I mean nothing much really changes when we go into a “New Year”. It’s something humans just kind of made up in order to track time better, however there is something fun about it!

It gives us a chance to reflect and look back and also to look forward to new goals. I think a lot of people joke around about the expression “New Year, New Me”.  I know I use it jokingly, but there is something to it. I mean with resolutions and what not I think we’d all like to create a newer, better version of ourselves in the new year.

Even when the newness fades I’m going to try to continue to remain excited. It should be a really big year! Heck, I’m leaving for Hawaii on the the 7th! I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start off the year. Granted it’s for work, but believe me, I’m going to enjoy the most that I possibly can of what Oahu has to offer.

I don’t have a resolution for this year. Instead, I’m going to stick to the goals that I set back on my birthday in November and I’m happy to say that I’m on track to be meeting them so far! Definitely exciting!

Just in case you didn’t see what my goals are and for me to stay fresh with them to here they are:

  • Run a marathon
  • Take a week long trip to the Czech Republic
  • Save $25,000
  • Add two more properties to my real estate portfolio
  • Visit and drink at every brewery in Georgia

These goals pretty much cover the big areas of my life. Besides the drinking beer at breweries part. I’m not an alcoholic or anything I just enjoy beer and think it’d be fun.

Running a marathon will help me be more mindful of my health. It’ll get me up and moving and also make me pay attention to what I’m eating. Super excited about this one!

I’ve been saving money from every paycheck so far for the trip to the Czech Republic and just about halfway to the amount I’d like to have. I’ve been to the Czech Republic once and stayed in Prague for a day or two and absolutely loved it. I’m not sure where exactly I’m going to go this time, but I have a friend that lives over there I’m going to visit him for a week. It’ll be so nice to get out of the country again!

Saving the $25,000 is super important to me because that’ll be the start to my reserves for my properties as well as part of the money that will help me purchase more properties which leads into the goal of adding two more properties to my portfolio. It’s a lofty goal, but one that I truly believe I can accomplish. I just need to figure out the how part.

Then I have a bunch of little goals for throughout the year and of course life throws us curve balls all the time as well and we have to figure out the best way to deal with them. All in all though I’d say 2018 is shaping out the be an excellent year for me and I hope it will be for all of you as well!

Happy New Year and best wishes to all of you!
